GROUP OF DON ORIONE FRIENDS IN KENYA
Amigos Don Orione en Kenya
During the month of July 2015, our congregation started the second centre of daily care for children and youth with intellectual disability in Kenya, following the invitation of our founder to walk together with the most vulnerable and unfortunate people in our society.
During the process of construction and implementation of new centre located in Kandisi village, a group of lay people, most of them from our parish have been invited to start with a new group of Don Orione Friends in Kenya. the answer from them was very positive.
The members of this group are also coming from our staff members and young people motivated by the service that a the centre is given to the people with special need of support .
The meetings are every first Friday of the month, the first one was in the month of September. The first part of the meeting is about knowledge on our Charism and the second part is about the different activities and services that our centre is providing, from this knowledge and experience some acctions are coming out to support the different areas of the Centre.
Last Friday, as every month, they have had the meeting that already is habitual of the group of Don Orione Friends.

En el mes de Julio de este año, nuestra congregación ha comenzado el segundo centro de día para la atención de niños y jóvenes con discapacidad intelectual en Kenia, siguiendo el llamado de nuestro fundador a caminar junto o las más débiles y vulnerables de nuestra sociedad. Durante el proceso de construcción e implementación de este nuevo centro ubicado en la localidad de Kandisi, un grupo de laicos provenientes en su mayoría de nuestra parroquia, respondieron positivamente a la invitación de dar inicio a un nuevo grupo de Amigos de Don Orione en Kenia. Este grupo se compone además de personas de nuestra parroquia, de miembros del equipo de trabajadores de nuestro centro y jóvenes que se han sentido atraídos por el trabajo que nuestro centro realiza en bien de las personas con necesidades especiales.
Las reuniones son cada primer viernes de mes, ya han realizado la primera en el mes de septiembre. Hay un primero momento de formación al carisma orionino y una segunda parte dedicada al conocimiento más a fondo de las actividades de nuestro centro desde donde se derivan algunas actividades que van en directo beneficio de nuestros asistidos en las distintas áreas que el centro posee.
El pasado viernes, como cada mes, han tenido la reunión que ya es habitual del grupo Amigos de Don Orione.
